Recommendations for this plan
Former Ozu Kiyozaemon Residence (Kyuozuki Yozaemonke)
The third generation Nagahiro, who is said to be the founder, opened the paper shop "Ozuya" in 1-chome, Odenmacho in 1653. After that, in Genroku 11 (1698), a cotton shop "Iseya" was opened in the neighboring land, and in Tenmei 4 (1784), a paper shop (Muko store) was opened in Honmachi 4-chome. Also, in Matsusaka, it is listed as the leading merchant among many wealthy merchants with Edo stores, and in 1755, it was ordered to use the Kishu domain with Mitsui, Hasegawa, Nagai and others.
Former Hasegawa Jirobei Residence
This is the home of the Hasegawa Jirobei family, one of Matsusaka's leading merchants, whose name is "Tambaya" in Uomachi 1-chome.
The Hasegawa family was one of the first Ise merchants with Edo stores to enter Edo and succeed. In 1675, the founder was Masayuki Jirobei III, and later became a cotton dealer with five stores in 1-chome, Odenmacho, Edo. Hiroshige's "Toto Daidenma-gai Prosperity Map" depicts the Hasegawa family's Edo store, which shows its prosperity.
Gojoban Yashiki
A historical space that lives quietly across Makigaki and cobblestones, this is a samurai residence where the former Kishu clan moved to protect Matsusaka Castle in the late Edo period.
Motoori Norinaga Memorial Museum
The collection includes Norinaga's autographed manuscript, which is famous for "Kojikiden," and about 10,000 self-loved items. Next to it is the old house "Suzuya" where Norinaga lived from the age of 12 until his death. The life of a great national scholar at that time is remembered.
Agricultural Park Bell Farm
It is an agricultural park in a landscape blessed with abundant nature, and on the vast site of about 29ha, there are shops where you can enjoy dishes using fresh seasonal ingredients, sales of special products and specialties, and an English garden. There are seasonal flowers, greenery, and nature.
