Recommendations for this plan
Iga Naritasan "Shin Daibutsu-Ji"
One theory is that it is a historical temple that is said to be a model for the reconstruction of the Great Buddha Hall at Todaiji Temple.
The principal image of the wooden Nyorai Buddha is made by Kaikei, a Buddhist priest, and has long been popular with people as the "Great Buddha of Awa".
There are many important cultural properties and Basho's monument in the precincts.
Igayaki Nagatani En
A long-established store of Iga ware that was founded during the Tenpo era in the Marubashira district of Iga ware village. The traditional technique is surely inherited by young potters, and you can not only observe the work but also actually experience pottery (reservation required, charge). Also, the climbing kiln at the time of its founding, which can be said to be a symbol of tradition, is a must-see. You can also purchase products. "Kamado-san" in the photo is a gem that was introduced on NHK.
Iga Kumihimo Kumi no Sato
Exhibition, experience, and hand-knitting demonstrations of traditional crafts and Iga braids. You can make either a key chain or a bracelet with a kumihimo.
